Reasonable Accommodation Policy

Özyeğin University has an institutional framework ensuring reasonable accommodation for people with disabilities, supported by dedicated funding mechanisms. The university's Disabled Students Unit coordinates a comprehensive range of accommodations across all disability groups — physical, visual, hearing, speech, learning, ADHD, chronic, and psychological — at no cost to students. Services include assistive technology, accessible exam arrangements, note-taking and scribe support, faculty awareness training, sign language instruction for staff, and accessible dormitory rooms built to regulatory standards. These services are delivered through coordinated institutional resources across the Disabled Students Unit, the Health & Safety and Environment Department, IT, the Library, and the Accommodation Services Directorate.
On the financial support side, students with disabilities are eligible to apply for the university's needs-based and merit-based student support programs through ÖzÜ Burs, the university's equal opportunities in education platform. No separate disability-specific fund exists; however, all available support schemes are open to students with disabilities on equal terms.
The university's accommodation commitments are grounded in Turkey's Law No. 5378 on Persons with Disabilities and relevant YÖK regulations, and are further documented under SDG 10 on the Sustainability Platform.
