International SDG Data Collaboration
ATTUNE: Activate The University for Climate Change
Özyeğin University participates in international collaboration initiatives that systematically gather and measure data related to the SDGs. The "Activate The University for Climate Change" (ATTUNE) project, an Erasmus+ KA220-HED initiative, demonstrates exemplary international data collection efforts by simultaneously engaging five universities across Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Türkiye. This project has generated significant measurable outcomes including 50,000 website visits, active participation of 1,700 members from university communities, and 31 research-action teams working on climate change topics. The initiative has developed five main online education modules covering sustainability themes such as water, energy, food consumption, waste, and transportation, creating a replicable model for data collection and impact measurement across different institutional contexts.
International and National Research Funding Framework
The university's Diversified Research Funding Framework further supports international data gathering through partnerships with the European Union (representing 23.8% of total funding), TUBITAK (34.13%), and other international institutions (8.4%). These multisectoral partnerships enable the university to contribute to global data repositories while addressing real-world challenges through collaborative research spanning home appliances, defense industry, technology and telecommunications, financial services, and various other sectors.
