yaklaş - Co-Act Co-Art

Özyeğin University participated in the 17th Istanbul Biennial parallel events with its selection, "Approach 2030 | Co-Art Co-Act." The “Co-Art Co-Act / yaklaş_2030” selection, aims to initiate dialogue and experience sharing on Sustainable Development Goals. This selection brings to life the question, "What Can Art Do for Solving Global Issues?" and emphasizes the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. The Approach 2030 | Co-Art Co-Act selection invites the community to take action by connecting the works of young artists with the SDGs. It hosts selections, panels and speeches created by matching the works in the university art collection -UNIART- with SDGs.

Ozyegin University hosts an Art Collection with a generous donation by the Ozyegin Family. Young artists working in Turkey were selected for the collection. The University's collecting policy aims to continue the acquisition of works by Turkish and regional artists from the twentieth century to the present. All items from the collection are displayed in buildings on the campus and open to the public.

Since 2019, “Art walks” have ensured that the works of art exhibited in different places on campus are included in the student orientation and that the students get closer to the cultural heritage. With the transfer of the works on campus to digital due to the pandemic, the ÖzU Arts website was created, and thus, works of art are shared with both ÖzU members and the public at https://arts.ozyegin.edu.tr/tr

There are also exhibitions, seminars, and competitions held by different academic administrative units which are free of charge and open to the public.
