Interdisciplinary Energy Talks (IET) by CEEE/EÇEM
Interdisciplinary Energy Talks (IET) is a series of events organized by the Energy, Environment, and Economy Center (CEEE/EÇEM) at Özyeğin University. These talks will focus on fundamental energy concepts, renewable energy models, energy efficiency measures, and sustainable energy transitions both in Turkey and worldwide, presented by invited speakers or CEEE researchers.
The TET series aims to disseminate current research, address new ideas and discoveries, and increase awareness about the complex issues facing the world. For example, in November 2022, TET-1 included three different talks. M. Pınar Mengüç, Director of CEEE/EÇEM, participated as a panelist in two side events at COP 27 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, and will deliver a keynote speech at Şişecam's 37th International Glass Conference in Istanbul. All these talks are available online.
WinnersUp
Winners Up is a dynamic startup established by students aiming to empower high school students through comprehensive educational programs. With their innovative approaches, they aim to enlighten young minds about various sectors and emphasize the importance of sustainability integration in these sectors. As an organization valuing education-based startups and actively supporting them, ÖzÜ Sustainability Platform proudly collaborates with Winners Up. In our latest collaboration, we delivered a thought-provoking lesson on critical issues such as sustainability and plastic usage. Most courses aim to showcase details about different sectors and demonstrate how sustainability can be applied across all these sectors. This educational initiative underscores our commitment to promoting learning and encouraging sustainable practices within the education ecosystem. Just as we collaborate with initiatives actively involved in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) research, such as the Simurg Association, our collaboration with Winners Up reflects our mission to create a positive impact on society and reflects our vision for a more enlightened future for high school students. By sharing our knowledge and expertise, we aim to contribute to the development of a responsible and environmentally conscious new generation.
