
Aklar graduated from Marmara English Department of International Relations. While doing her master's degree in Economics at METU, she went to the London School of Economics with a YÖK master's and doctoral scholarship. Between 2004-2009, she taught courses such as 'Politics,' 'Turkish Foreign Policy' at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Kocaeli University and served as the Director of the EU Office of International Relations. Between 2009-2011, she worked as a lecturer and International Relations Coordinator at Maltepe University. Between 2011-2014, Aklar worked as the Coordinator of the International Relations Office at Istanbul Şehir University. In September 2014, she joined Özyeğin University to establish the Accreditation and Quality Assurance office. In 2020, she led the writing of the University's first sustainability report. In 2021, she was appointed as the Administrative Director of the Sustainability Platform.
