SDG Policy Partnerships
Özyeğin University actively engages with national government bodies and regional non-governmental organizations to shape sustainable development policies and strategies. Through the "Türkiye & Europe: Smart and Green Cities Alliances" project, the university partners with TÜSİAD, TÜRKONFED, Institut du Bosphore, and Berlin Bosphorus Initiative to develop an integrated services-tools-technology roadmap for smart cities. This initiative strengthens coordination among municipalities across pilot cities including Istanbul, Izmir, Gaziantep, Konya, Bursa, Ankara, London, Paris, and Berlin, facilitating the design of short, medium, and long-term smart city strategies. The project has organized virtual workshops on critical topics such as Data Management, Access to Financing, and Disaster/Risk Management, enabling participating cities to identify common challenges and propose collaborative solutions.
Additionally, through the ÖzÜ Social Impact Study, the university prioritizes building bridges among the public sector, private enterprises, civil society, and academia to foster a culture of multi-stakeholder learning and collaboration, thereby contributing to evidence-based policy development and adaptive management for sustainable development goals.
