“Turkey & Europe: An Integrated Service-Device-Technology Roadmapping for Smart and Green Cities Alliances”

TÜSİAD, in partnership with TÜRKONFED, Institut du Bosphore, Berlin Bosphorus Initiative, Özyeğin University (ÖzÜ), and ÖzÜ - TÜSİAD Sustainable Development Forum, has initiated a project called "Turkey and Europe: Integrated Services - Tools - Technology Roadmap Project for Smart Cities." This project aims to strengthen coordination among municipalities, providing a platform for experience and knowledge sharing.
As part of the project, a roadmap proposal has been prepared to facilitate the design of short, medium, and long-term smart city strategies in selected cities. The pilot cities for the project include Istanbul, Izmir, Gaziantep, Konya, Bursa, Ankara, London, Paris, and Berlin. Within the project, participation in virtual workshops on "Data Management," "Access to Financing," and "Disaster/Risk Management" was facilitated (January 13, January 31, February 16).
Furthermore, considering that smart cities can produce more effective and sustainable strategies only when enriched with different perspectives and experiences, a workshop on "Collective and Integrated Data Management" was held in Istanbul in cooperation with the Consulate General of Germany in Istanbul. In this workshop, the pilot cities selected from Turkey and their initiatives discussed common challenges and proposed solutions in a workshop format. The Sustainable Development Forum supported the creation of the workshop's content and assisted in moderating sessions on "Integrated Data Management | Interdepartmental (Transportation, Energy, Environment, Disaster, Risk)" and "Interinstitutional" topics.
