Our event, which will be held in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, EÇEM, the Sustainability Platform, and our student clubs, will last for two days. We would like to thank our actively participating clubs, especially the Law Club, the Diplomacy Club, and the ÖzÜ Debate Club.

On the first day, there will be the Climate Crisis and Sustainable Climate Transformation Conference, and on the second day, the Climate Crisis, Climate Transformation, and Sustainability Student Seminar will be held. At the end of the second day, a discussion workshop will be organized for students regarding the topics covered in the conference.

The event will be held in Turkish. Our event is open to everyone who wants to participate. You can find detailed information on the event posters.

Now, it is time for the second phase.

We are thrilled to invite you to the second workshop of the ATTUNE project at Özyeğin University. This is the second phase of sustainable campus projects. All the groups will start working on their ideas to make them applicable to our campus. If you are excited about making sustainable changes, this is your cue to join us.

Engage with fellow students and faculty in creative discussions, brainstorm innovative ideas, and participate in sustainability-focused projects. Your participation will contribute to a greener campus and enrich your understanding of sustainable living.

Participants who complete three consecutive SEC180 workshops will receive a certification acknowledging their commitment and contribution to the project. Participants absent from the first workshop can complete an online training instead and still receive the certification.

About Dr. Akgün İlhan:

Dr. İlhan holds a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, a master's degree in environmental sciences, and a Ph.D. in water policy and management from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a Catalan Government scholarship. Since 2017, İlhan has been lecturing on environment, sustainability, and water in the Department of Tourism Management at Boğaziçi University and is currently working on water management in adaptation to climate change at the British Institute in Ankara. In addition to his writings on combating the water crisis, which has been published in national and international journals and books, and his artistic works exhibited at the Istanbul Biennials, Dr. İlhan is the producer and host of the programs "Su Hakkı" and "Sudan Gelen" on Açık Radio.

In this event, we will benefit from Dr. İlhan's experience and knowledge and gain valuable insights on sustainable management strategies.

Climate and Mobility Datathon Starts on the World Habitat Day ardakucuk Tue, 03/26/2024 - 08:49

This year, on the World Habitat Day, we will focus on one of the main sustainability issue in cities, "mobility". As the level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere reaches a historic high, the world's temperature has risen to a level that will lead to climate crisis through floods, droughts, fires, and storms. It is now inevitable for global problems to rely on data-based solutions at the local level. As a contribution to this effort, together with the IBB Data Laboratory, we are organizing the Climate and Mobility Datathon between October 2nd and October 14th, 2023. With the aim of developing data-driven project ideas from all over Turkey, 120 participants will work on projects with the guidance of 20 mentors and strive to find a solution. The event will include workshops, seminars, and presentations, and will conclude with an awards ceremony on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, at the IBB Data Laboratory. Mentorship will be provided to implement the awarded projects.
